Sex with a Donkey and the Consequences

Today the Kurdish Newspaper Awene ran a story that in Yemen 15 people were killed in a tribal conflict that started because a member of one tribe had sex with the donkey of a member of the other tribe.
I can hardly imagine events like this happen anywhere outside the Arab or Islamic world.

I think this story cites an article in the Arab newspaper “Al-Usbua’ “. But I was not able to find the source. And I did not find any other Arabic article referring to this event. But this is not unusual. Internet research in Arabic is not always leading to results.

To be honest this could be a story happening in any rural area in the world, absolutely unrelated with religion or any particular culture whatsoever.
It is just about the sense of possesion, the self-definition by oposition to the neighbour, the humilliation shown by exploting sexually somebody’s bellonging, and the importance of supporting your people.
